Masks – tested disposable protection for work, hygiene and everyday life
Respirators as disposable products protect against aerosols, particulate matter and particles - if selected correctly and fit correctly. The category includes filtering disposable half masks of classes FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 according to EN 149. Hygienically packaged, ready for immediate use at omniprotect.de.
Respirators – disposable respirators for work & temporary assignments
Respirators are one of the most important disposable products in occupational safety when short-term or alternating respiratory protection is required. Particulate matter, aerosols and particles are often invisible, but they can put a strain on the respiratory tract and cause long-term health risks.
Disposable respirators filter these particles from the air we breathe – provided they are selected appropriately for the hazard and worn correctly. In this category, you will only find disposable respirators that are disposed of after use and are not reusable.
Filtering disposable half masks (FFP1, FFP2, FFP3 according to EN 149)
Filtering half masks are made entirely of filter material and cover the mouth and nose. They are used for self-protection against solid and liquid aerosols and are classified according to EN 149:
- FFP1 – Protection against larger, non-hazardous particles
- FFP2 – Increased protection against particulate matter, smoke and aerosols
- FFP3 – Very high filter performance for heavily loaded working areas
Depending on the class, the filter capacity is:
- FFP1 ≥ 80%
- FFP2 ≥ 94%
- FFP3 ≥ 99%
Most models are available as NR (Non Reusable) and intended for one-time or temporary use.
Masks with and without exhalation valve
Disposable respirators are optionally available:
- without valve – with additional external protection
- with exhalation valve – Reduced breathing resistance and higher wearing comfort during physical work
Hint: Masks with a valve protect the wearer, but do not offer external protection.
Typical applications for disposable respirators
- Construction & Crafts
- Industry & Production
- Remediation & Disposal
- Woodworking and metalworking
- Cleaning and maintenance work
The appropriate protection class should be selected for each activity on the basis of the risk assessment, e.g. in accordance with DGUV Rule 112-190.
Important information on seat, wearing time and disposal
The protective effect of disposable respirators depends, among other things, on:
- Correct fit and sufficient tightness
- suitable protection class
- Face shape, moisture and respiratory strain
Disposable masks must be changed if:
- the breathing resistance increases noticeably
- the mask is damaged or soaked
- the maximum recommended wearing time has been reached
Reuse is not planned.
